Aldo Ghiurmino was born in Savona in 1963 and lives in the Marche region of central Italy with his wife Antonella. A lifelong lover of magic, he joined the Club Magico Italiano in Bologna in 1989, and in 2006 the club gave him the Garatti Award for the best contribution to its magazine "Magia Moderna". Since 2014 he has been the CMI's historian and archivist.

A researcher and writer, he contributes to Italian and international magazines and websites. He translated Pit Hartling's "Card Fictions" and Roberto Giobbi's "The Art of Switching Decks" into Italian, and is the author of "Fism, the book" and "Moroso e Dhôtel, una storia di amicizia e di magia". He is a familiar figure at Italian conventions, translating on stage, producing newsletters, lecturing and serving on juries. From 2008 to 2013 he ran the Masters of Magic Web TV with a group of friends. In 2019 a lecture by Mauro Massironi on the Italian magician "Frizzo" led him into deep historical research on hand shadows.

He was our guest at the FISM World Championship of Magic in Rimini 2015, United Magicians for the World 2020, the Masters of Magic Convention 2021, the FISM European Championship of Magic in Saint-Vincent 2024 and the FISM World Championship of Magic in Turin 2025.
