Silvan

The icon of Italian magic

Silvan, stage name of Aldo Savoldello, is the most famous magician in the history of Italian television and one of the most respected names in world magic. Born in Venice, he began performing as a boy and built a career that has crossed more than sixty years, bringing elegant, impeccable illusion into the homes of millions of Italians. His "Sim Sala Bim" became part of the national vocabulary: for generations of Italians, magic simply had his face.

On television he created and hosted legendary shows that made prime-time magic a family ritual, while on stage he toured the world with full evening illusion shows performed in several languages. The international community has honoured him with its highest recognitions, and his peers regard him as a master of classical technique, presentation and style: the complete magician in the European grand tradition.

A reference point for every Italian magician and a friend of Masters of Magic since its beginnings, Silvan received the Golden Grolla in 2008, at the first ceremony in Saint-Vincent, as the living symbol of Italian magic in the world.

Honoured by Masters of Magic among the legends who have shaped the history of magic.
