Christian Chelman

2017 2021
Christian Chelman is renowned in Europe and the United States as a first-class sleight-of-hand artist and a master of imaginative, fanciful conjuring. In 1993 he won the MacMillan Competition at the International Magic Convention in London, regarded as the equivalent of a world championship of close-up magic, with his presentation of Delirium Magicum.
He is the curator of the Surnateum, the Museum of Supernatural History, home to one of the world's largest collections of magical objects, which has been shown in major exhibitions including Persona at the Musée du Quai Branly in Paris in 2016. Its haunted objects inspire tales worthy of a gothic storyteller. He has written four landmark books on contemporary magic, among them Capricornian Tales and Hauntiques and Fabula Hermetika, performs regularly at the Magic Castle in Hollywood, and is one of the world's foremost experts on the cups and balls, arguably the oldest trick in magic.
At the Masters of Magic Convention he gave a lecture in 2017 and returned for the 2021 edition.
