Guy Hollingworth
On our stage at:
2010 FISM Italy 2015
Guy Hollingworth fell for magic at 13 at St Paul's School in London, inspired first by Channing Pollock and then by Ricky Jay, who steered him towards close-up and gambling themed effects. A First Class graduate in Industrial Design who went on to study law, he is now a barrister specialising in intellectual property, yet he still performs his highly original yet traditional style of card conjuring.
His book Drawing Room Deceptions (1999) instantly became the best selling title of Mike Caveney's Magic Words. His best known effect, The Reformation, in which a signed card torn into quarters is restored piece by piece, was featured among the Fifty Greatest Magic Tricks on British television. His one man show The Expert at the Card Table played to sell-out houses at the Edinburgh Festival in 2008, and in 2009 the Academy of Magical Arts in Hollywood named him Magician of the Year.
We welcomed him at the Masters of Magic Convention in 2010 and at the FISM World Championship of Magic in Rimini 2015.
