Michael Weber

On our stage at:

2010 2016

Michael Weber holds a unique place among teachers, inventors and wonder-workers. He earned Masters and Doctorate degrees, yet never let formal education get in the way of his fascination with "forbidden knowledge": Scientific American called him "a walking Swiss Army knife". Respected for his innovation, problem-solving and storytelling, he was the magic consultant on David Blaine's original "Street Magic" television special and helped redefine magic for his generation.

With Ricky Jay he founded Deceptive Practices, which provides "Arcane Knowledge on a Need-to-Know Basis" to film, theatre and television. He has worked with writers and directors including Errol Morris, Wes Craven, Christopher Nolan, Martin Scorsese, George Wolfe, David Mamet and Robert Zemeckis, and his work can be seen in films and plays such as "Forrest Gump", "Angels in America", "The Illusionist", "The Prestige" and "Ocean's 13". He was also co-creator and executive producer of the Sony Television series "CONversations".

He was our guest at the Masters of Magic Convention in 2010 and 2016.
