Lance Burton

On our stage at:

2021

Lance Burton is widely considered by his peers to be the greatest stage magician of the past century. As magic historian Mike Caveney put it: line up every magician in the world, give them each twelve minutes, and Lance wins.

Born and raised in Louisville, Kentucky, he burst onto the national stage on 28 October 1981 with his first appearance on "The Tonight Show" with Johnny Carson, followed by appearances with David Letterman, Jay Leno and many more. In 1996 NBC aired his first TV special, "Lance Burton Master Magician: The Legend Begins", followed by a series of annual specials. Yet his greatest achievements came in live performance: working mainly in Las Vegas, he gave an astounding fifteen thousand shows over a thirty year career, the last on 4 September 2010.

Today he lives on his farm in Kentucky, supports a number of charities, mentors young magicians and has taken up filmmaking: he directed "Billy Topit Master Magician", named Best Family Film at the Wild Rose Independent Film Festival, and served as magic advisor on "Oz the Great and Powerful", teaching magic to James Franco. He was our guest at the Masters of Magic Convention 2021.
