Alessandro Marrazzo
The director behind the magic
Alessandro Marrazzo is a director, show designer and scenographer, one of those rare artists who move with the same ease between cinema, opera, television, theatre and grand live events. Trained as a production designer in Italian cinema, he has worked on films from the mid-1990s onwards, from "Tutti giù per terra" to "7 km da Gerusalemme" and "La vita possibile", and his credits run through productions with RAI, Mediaset, Sky and Cinecittà, as well as commercials, exhibitions and lighting and multimedia design.
Magic entered his story through Masters of Magic: alongside Walter Rolfo he became the director and scenographer of its shows and television productions, the eye that decides what the audience actually sees when the impossible happens. He also collaborated on "Inganni: Manuale di difesa", the one-man show and inquiry into the mysteries of the mind and human perception. Magicians build the miracle; Marrazzo builds the world around the miracle, the lights, the space and the rhythm that turn a trick into an image nobody forgets.
Masters of Magic honoured him with the Golden Grolla in 2022, in Saint-Vincent: a tribute to the director who has given magic its stage, its light and its look.
