David Copperfield is the most successful magician in history, by any measure the art has ever known. His television specials, broadcast for decades all over the planet, brought magic to billions of viewers and created images that belong to the collective memory of the twentieth century: the Statue of Liberty vanishing in front of a live audience, the walk through the Great Wall of China, the flight over the stage of his own theatre, performed with a grace that made the impossible look like a dream remembered.

In Las Vegas he has performed thousands of shows, filling his theatre night after night, year after year, with a work ethic that colleagues describe with disbelief. Away from the stage he built the International Museum and Library of the Conjuring Arts, the largest collection of magic memorabilia in existence, where the props of Houdini and the great masters of the past are preserved for the art's future. Emmy awards, a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame and records of every kind complete a career without precedent.
